EXPLICIT
Where the paradox of what should be manifest—unequivocal by nature—cannot be so, except by definition alone.

01
THE BORDER
A white, textured band cuts across a black canvas—rigid, artificial, absolute. Above it, a burst of red stains the surface in a violent arc.
The composition evokes boundaries: drawn, imposed, enforced. Lines that organize space, define identity, and yet remain fundamentally imagined. Between contrast and contact, order and fracture, THE BORDER reflects on one of the most enduring constructs of human history.
02
CIVILIAN
A spray-painted silhouette of a soldier recalls the standard targets used in shooting ranges. In this case, the piece was physically brought into a real range and used as a target. The bullet holes that hit the figure remain clean. Those that missed bleed.
The work draws attention to a well-documented reality: in armed conflicts, it is most often civilians—not soldiers—who bear the heaviest toll. Here, missed shots become wounds. The piece reframes the logic of aim and consequence, exposing the disproportionate cost of war beyond the battlefield.
